These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Float (“Float,” “we,” “us”) covering your use of the Float app, website, and related services (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) and able to form a binding contract. If you use Float on behalf of someone else, you confirm you're authorised to do so.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial money tracking, in line with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service except where the law expressly permits it.
An account is optional and exists to back up and sync your data. If you create one, you're responsible for keeping access to it secure and for activity that happens under it. Tell us promptly at hello@getfloat.org if you suspect unauthorised use. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
Float is free to use. Float Plus is an optional paid subscription unlocking features such as unlimited AI logging, receipt scanning, full history, and multi-currency.
Please don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, disrupt or attack the Service, attempt to access data that isn't yours, or misuse the AI features (for example, by submitting content you have no right to submit). We may suspend access that puts the Service or other people at risk.
Float is a budgeting and tracking tool to help you understand your own money. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and its numbers — including your daily “safe to spend” figure — are estimates based on the information you enter. You're responsible for your financial decisions. Always use your own judgment and, where appropriate, a qualified professional.
The Service, including its design, the Float name and logo, text, and software, is owned by Float and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't transfer any of those rights to you. The data you create remains yours; by using features like the recap card, you let us process that data only to provide the Service to you.
The Service relies on third parties such as Apple, Google, and our cloud and AI providers. Your use of their services is governed by their terms, and we're not responsible for them. App-store distribution is also subject to the relevant store's terms.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will be perfectly accurate. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Float will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or savings, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, to a reasonable amount. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or if we must do so for legal or security reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where Float is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live. We'll always try to resolve issues informally first — just reach out.
